Beneath the coal black skies of deposit Lake County, California, at the foot of Mt. Konocti, lies Taylor Observatory. In continuous operation for over 25 years, this facility features a classroom, research grade telescope under a dome, and a planetarium. It is well equipped to help students and the general public learn about astronomy. At least one public event is held each month, as well as a number of private events that are scheduled on a reservation basis. The observatory also conducts outreach to the schools. Please note that this facility is open only for scheduled events. It is not open to money management the public during regular business hours.
